No te metas con mi cucu
On June 24th 2022, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a 50 year old policy that provided abortion rights to women across this country. This injudicious decision will have life-threatening consequences for women, girls, and people who can become pregnant for years to come.
The end of Roe does not mean an end to abortions, it will only limit access to safe abortions, especially for POC. This decision will disproportionately impact Black and brown communities where abortion rates are much higher (1). “According to the Guttmacher Institute, a research, and policy organization that supports abortion rights, the reasons for these higher rates are systemic, driven by a lack of access to and effective use of contraceptives.” (2)
At Floricón we believe that every person deserves the essential human right to make healthcare decisions for their own body, including safe and accessible abortions. We also believe in the power of community and standing in solidarity with those who also believe that the government should not control or be involved in any way with anybody’s “cucu”.
That’s why we pledge to donate 100% of net profit from our “no te metas con mi cucu” tee to the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF).
